How to Keep Employees on Your Team after COVID-19

If you asked employees about job satisfaction in 2020, most of them would tell you they were just happy to have a job. The COVID-19 pandemic upended the economy in such dramatic fashion that holding onto a job and learning to be somewhat productive over Zoom calls were both considered major wins.

Not anymore. With vaccination rates rapidly increasing and new cases declining in many places, both executives and employees are feeling very optimistic. The U.S. Labor Department issued a jobs report on March 25 with the best numbers we have seen in a year. While this is great news for business in America, it may spell trouble for your ability to keep your employees, who may now think of themselves as free agents. If your employees haven’t already been approached by companies looking to poach their talents, they will be soon. With no office to tether them, those employees who have become accustomed to working from home may be especially open to greener pastures.
